What we collect

When you use Wattif, we collect:

• Account information (email, name, company name)
• Facility data (energy telemetry from sensors you install)
• Conversation data (your interactions with Wattif for improving the service)
• Usage data (how you use the platform, for improving the experience)
• Phone number (when you connect via WhatsApp)
• Electricity bill images (when you send them for analysis via WhatsApp or the platform)

How we use it

Your data is used to:

• Provide energy intelligence for your facilities
• Detect anomalies, build baselines, and generate recommendations
• Improve Wattif's accuracy and capabilities
• Send you alerts, reports, and operational notifications
• Respond to your messages on WhatsApp
• Analyse electricity bills you send us

WhatsApp messaging

When you interact with Wattif via WhatsApp:

• Your phone number is stored to maintain your session and link it to your account
• Messages you send are processed by our AI to provide energy intelligence
• Images you send (such as electricity bills or installation photos) are processed for analysis and may be stored to improve the service
• We may send you proactive alerts about your energy usage (anomalies, weekly summaries, device status) if you have connected your facility
• You can stop receiving messages at any time by sending "stop" or by contacting us
• We do not share your WhatsApp data with third parties for advertising purposes
• WhatsApp messages are transmitted via Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta's own privacy policy applies to the transmission of messages

Your data stays yours

We do not sell your data. We do not share your facility data with other customers. Your energy telemetry is stored securely and used only to provide intelligence for your facilities.

Staff access to your data

Wattif support and operations staff may access your facility data for the following purposes:

• Providing technical support and resolving issues you report
• Onboarding assistance, including sensor installation and data verification
• Improving energy recommendations and ensuring service quality
• Investigating anomalies or system errors that affect your service

Staff access is limited to personnel with a legitimate operational need. All access is logged and auditable. We do not access your data for marketing or any purpose unrelated to delivering the Wattif service.

Data storage

Account data is stored in Supabase (hosted in Singapore). Energy telemetry is stored in TDEngine (self-hosted). Conversations with Wattif are processed by Anthropic's Claude API and are not used to train AI models.

Bill and document uploads

When you upload an electricity bill or SLD during an assessment, the document is read once for analysis and then discarded. It is not stored on our servers.

Third-party services

We use the following services to provide Wattif:

• Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in Singapore)
• Anthropic Claude API (AI processing, conversations are not used to train models)
• Meta WhatsApp Business Platform (WhatsApp messaging)
• Resend (email notifications)
• Vercel (application hosting)

We do not sell your data to any third party. Your data is only shared with these services as necessary to provide the Wattif service.

Data retention

Energy telemetry is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days. Conversation history is retained for 12 months. Account data is retained until you request deletion. Bill images sent via WhatsApp are processed and may be stored for up to 12 months. You may request deletion of any data at any time.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. No tracking cookies. No third-party advertising cookies.

You can request a copy of your data, request deletion of your account and all associated data, or ask any questions about how your data is handled. Email us at privacy@wattif.io.
